Artist’s Bio-express

Orlando Pompeu was born on the 24 ^th May of 1956, in Cepães – Fafe. He studied drawing, painting and sculpture in Barcelona, Porto and Paris. In the nineties he proceed his artistic course when he got work to the United States of America and then to Japan. His entire work consists on several private and official collections in Portugal, Spain, France, England, Brazil, USA and Japan.

The artist is owner of a nearly thirty years career as well as a national and international unique curriculum. He has also four published books about his work, beyond several catalogues: Pompeu Dez Anos Depois / Textos de José-Augusto França, Manuel Cargaleiro e Orlando Pompeu, Trofa, Sólivros Editores, 1989; 20 Desenhos de Orlando Pompeu, Trofa, Sólivros Editores, 1993; Livro-Catálogo da Exposição Retrospectiva Orlando Pompeu - Horizonte de Liberdade, Porto, Fundação Eng.º António de Almeida, 1997; Orlando Pompeu - Paris, Nova Iorque, Tóquio / Textos de César Príncipe, Trofa, Sólivros Editores, 1998.
